Restorative Dentistry for Kids in Midlothian
When a tooth needs a little extra help, we’re here with pediatric dental fillings, kids dental crowns and calm, kid-sized treatment. We restore health and function while keeping every visit as easy and positive as possible.

Does your child need restorative care?
Cavities, chips and worn teeth are common in children, and baby teeth still matter. Call us if you notice:
- Tooth pain or sensitivity to hot, cold or sweets
- Visible holes, dark spots or discoloration on a tooth
- A chipped, cracked or worn-down tooth
- An old filling that feels loose or has broken
Book a visit using the form below or call us at (804) 601-0469. We’ll check the tooth and walk you through every option before any treatment.
Good to know: cavities in baby teeth can grow quickly because the enamel is thinner. Don’t wait for pain before getting a tooth checked.
What restorative treatments do we offer?
Gentle options designed just for children, always explained to you and your child first.
Tooth-colored fillings
Natural-looking fillings that repair cavities and blend in with your child’s smile.
Crowns for baby teeth
Durable caps that protect teeth with large cavities or damage until they’re ready to fall out naturally.
Pulp therapy
A gentle treatment that cleans out the infected part of the tooth and seals it, so the tooth can be saved instead of removed.
Space maintainers
Custom appliances that hold space for adult teeth when a baby tooth is lost early.
Gentle extractions
When a tooth can’t be saved, we remove it as comfortably as possible.
Comfort options
Numbing, distraction and a calm pace, with other comfort options discussed when needed.
Sedation and anesthesia
Nitrous oxide helps anxious kids relax. For extensive care, general anesthesia lets your child sleep comfortably with a pediatric anesthesiologist.
Silver diamine fluoride
A brush-on liquid that can stop select cavities from growing, sometimes avoiding a shot or drill altogether.
Your child’s treatment plan depends on their age, the tooth involved and their comfort. We’ll always explain your options and costs first.

Restorative Dentistry FAQs
Straight answers to the questions parents ask us most.
Why fix a baby tooth if it will fall out anyway?
Baby teeth help with chewing, speaking and holding space for adult teeth. An untreated cavity can cause pain, infection and problems for the adult tooth underneath.
Will my child feel any pain?
We numb the area gently and go at your child’s pace. Most kids are surprised by how easy it is.
Can a cavity in a baby tooth heal on its own?
Very early weak spots can sometimes be strengthened with fluoride and better habits, but once a true cavity forms it needs treatment to stop it from growing.
How long does a filling appointment take?
Most fillings take between 30-60 mins, depending on the size and number of teeth.
What should my child do after treatment?
If your child was numbed, watch that they don’t bite their cheek, lip or tongue until the feeling returns, and stick to soft foods for the rest of the day.
