About Dr. Vidisha Patel
Dr. Vidisha Patel founded Little Buds Pediatric Dentistry with one simple goal: to create a place where children can grow up feeling comfortable and confident at the dentist. She believes that with kindness, patience, and encouragement, every child can develop healthy habits and a positive relationship with dental care that lasts a lifetime. At Little Buds, every child is nurtured with compassionate, personalized care as they grow into a healthy, confident smile.
Roots and education
Originally from the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Dr. Patel moved to the Richmond, Virginia area with her family in 2023. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, and her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, where she received the Dean’s Award for Community Service.
Training and passion for kids
Dr. Patel completed her pediatric dentistry training at Temple University Hospital - Episcopal Division. Her passion for working with children began in high school while volunteering at her childhood dentist’s office, where she saw firsthand how a caring dental experience could help children feel comfortable and confident.
Board certification and memberships
As a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Patel is dedicated to providing gentle, compassionate care and creating positive dental experiences for every child. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Gorgas Odontological Honor Society, and the Gamma Phi Delta Honor Society.
Life beyond dentistry
Outside of the office, Dr. Patel enjoys spending time with her husband, Ketan, and their son and daughter. She loves cooking, staying active, traveling, exploring new cultures, and trying new foods with her family.
